Character Name: Jenna Kirsten Martin Jones. LAME.

Gender: Female

Job/Role: High School Junior.

Age: 16

Current Goal/Purpose: Try not to let anyone find out her new parents are vampires, while simultaneously trying not to FREAK OUT because her new parents are vampires.

General Personality: Jenna fits the typical 16 year old girl mold. She thinks school is boring. She likes boys. Music is awesome. Her favorite band is The Wanted. She’s always texting people on her cellphone and seriously believes people are either A) looking at her and judging her all the time, or B) don’t know she even exists. Jenna will flop back and forth on these two extremes with no rhyme or reason. She is currently VERY VERY VERY sad because her parents are dead. She even has a BIG SECRET she can’t tell anyone about – and it’s not even her new vampire parents.

General History: Jenna was born to normal parents, and lived a normal kid life with nothing shocking, weird or extraordinary.

UNTIL NOW OMG.

Her parents died a year ago. She was in the system for a few months until her new parents adopted her. And boy… did they have a weird secret. Jenna has now been living with them for a couple months getting used to this strange new living arrangement.

Jenna loves sneaking in to abandoned, derelict places to take pictures of them with her phone. She thinks it’s really cool the way nature takes stuff back over.

She likes alligators and crocodiles and all matter of lizardy type things. She also likes turtles and frogs. Snakes she’s not so sure about, because they don’t have legs and that’s weird.

PHYSICAL

General Appearance: Jenna looks like every other teenage girl. With the hair and the clothes and the cellphone and their weird hat. Her hair is naturally a boring shade of brown, so she’s always bleaching in streaks, colored highlights and so on. Right now she is sporting blond highlights. Favors babydoll t-shirts, loose jeans, cool belts, and loves hats. Likes to paint her nails glittery and random colors. Enjoys experimenting with makeup, but doesn’t like to wear it on a daily basis cause she tends to smear it and mess it up.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Dad Martin: Worked in Checking & Savings at a Bank. Slightly balding, wore glasses. Went golfing once a month with work buddies. Not a very ambitious or confident man. The most exciting thing he ever did was chase after Jenna’s Mom all Rom-com style and followed her out of the country to ask her to marry him. Jenna and her Dad didn’t really talk or hang out a lot, since he wasn’t really sure how to behave with a daughter. But he was always slipping her extra cash for chores, and would always say yes to something she wanted to do as long as her grades were good.

Mom Martin: Worked as an Editor at a Magazine. A daydreamy, shy and quiet woman. Loved being a mom and a wife. Having a family was always her one BIG dream, but when her boyfriend seemed like he would never propose, she decided to take an intern job abroad. She didn’t think he would actually chase her to Europe. They married in Paris and it was the most romantic thing in her life. Jenna was much closer to her mom, despite the fact her mom was the disciplinarian of the house. Mom wouldn’t let her get away with ANYTHING. Once a month they always had a Mom & Daughter day and went out to do something together.

Other Family: Jenna does have other family. Aunts, uncles, cousins. But none of them really reached out for her, or seemed all that interested in taking her. She’s hurt as hell about it, but fine. Whatever. Screw them.

Mr. & Mrs. Jones: WHAT. HER NEW PARENTS ARE VAMPIRES? Jenna is admittedly not as freaked out about it as she SHOULD be. That might have something to do with a little bit of vampire persuasion on Miranda Jones’ part. They seem okay enough people. Jenna isn’t really sure Casey Jones was on board with the whole adopt-a-teenager thing, and isn’t sure if he actually likes her. Miranda tries WAY too hard to be a perfect Soccer Mom and Jenna thinks it’s a little creepy, but gives the woman credit for the effort. The situation is bizarre, and she doesn’t think they’re going to hurt her – but deep down she does fear one day they’re going to decide she’s a snack. So she treads lightly and tries not to make a big fuss about anything.

Cassidy: A no-nonsense girl with an axe to grind and her eyes on the prize. She’s serious about school, the yearbook committee and basketball. She’s a loud and proud feminist and a devout Christian. She is part of the V-Club which is all about saving yourself until marriage. Cassidy has bullied her closest friends to participate. She is fiercely loyal and motherly protective of her friends.

Amber: All Amber wants is a boyfriend and it practically dominates her life to the extremes. The problem is that she is too scared to put herself out there for the guys she has a crush on, and she’d rather sit and complain about how no one ever notices her (even when plenty of people she wasn’t interested in has). Sometimes she borders on obsessive and stalkery behavior. She is a little bit manipulative, but because she comes off as this shy helpless person no one has noticed. Amber gets jealous easily and bitter over things.
