Katrinka’s 003: Taking in a Friend

[Katrinka is at the Service. The building now empty, save for an old couch and the last of her personal belongings stuffed in to a large suitcase.] -06:16 Jan 02
[Arthur is knocking on the fancy door, released from hospital and on his feet again.] -06:25 Jan 02
Katrinka: The knock was impossible to miss. With the building stark empty, the sound kind of echoed off the walls. It was amazing how BIG it actually was when there was nothing in it. Katrinka dashed across the lobby, using her keys to unlock the doors and swung them open to grant his entrance. "Hi Arty." She grinned. "You are officially my last guest." -06:28 Jan 02
Arthur: "Arty?" the a name was not one be had ever told her to use. "I just came to retrieve the last of my equpment, and to make sure you’re holding up alright. You are, arn’t you?" -06:32 Jan 02
[Katrinka enters.] -06:40 Jan 02
Katrinka: "You mean, am I suicidal and plotting to burn the place down with myself in it?" She was amazed she even said it with a straight face! Katrinka shrugged a shoulder and grinned as she stepped aside to let him in and locked the door behind him. "Three people have asked me that today. I’m alive. That’s good enough." She brushed passed him to lead the way out of the lobby and to one of the consultation rooms in the back where the last remnants of her belongings waited. "I have your check, too, by the way! I ended up making more money than I thought selling off everything. All of my loans and bills are officially gone." -06:43 Jan 02
Arthur: "Alive isn’t good enough." he said "Happiness is important too, so is security, Knight Security." it was an efort to make her smile. "Maybe that should be my radio advert." He hummed a few bars from Radoi Gaga and looked around. "We should celebrate, free tonight?" -06:49 Jan 02
Katrinka: "Security is definitely something I’m lacking." Katrinka couldn’t help but grin. He had a thousand and one terrible puns for his name and his company, and they were all delightfully awesome. When she stepped in to the back room, only containing a sofa and her suitcase, she knelt on the floor to unzip one of the pockets and pull out his check. "I’m free from tonight until… Forever I guess! I’d offer you a drink at the bar, but that’s cleared out too." -06:55 Jan 02
Arthur: "Not you bar I’m thinking of, theres and Irish place not far from here, great baked potatoe and that’s not be being racist, thats me liking good food. Good beer too, we could go there. Naybe nothing will happen." -06:59 Jan 02
[(Timeout) Katrinka has been fed to the plot bunnies for failure to participate.] -07:05 Jan 02
Katrinka: "Hmm." She stood, crossing back to him and offering him the check. Of course the likelyhood of doom, terror, and the inevitable collapse in to tears wasn’t very high. But he just got out of the hospital… "I’m not so sure you’re safe alone with me! But something to eat actually sounds really good. I haven’t eaten all day." -07:05 Jan 02
Arthur: He took the check and smiled. "Good, because I wasn’t taking no for an answer, I’m parked outside if you don’t have anything you’re waiting for…" He glanced at her. "We could go right now becore the rush." -07:07 Jan 02
Katrinka: Katrinka glanced down at her suitcase. The idea was to pay everyone she owned and then run away! Flee the city! Something spontaeneous and unlike herself to start a new life. Now that the last man was paid? She had no idea what to do next. "Dinner before the rush sounds good to me." She latched on to his arm just for the amusement of giving him a cheeky smile. "Want me to hook you up with someone there? One last moment of Katrinka magic." -07:12 Jan 02
Arthur: "Ehh…" he started walking with her on his arm and looked away. "I’m not really looking for anyone right now, and I’m sure you’ll be hooking people up wherever you end up, you enjoy it too much to stop. You saw what happened, imagine if that he gone worse and I had someone waiting for me at home. I can’t do that to anyone." -07:18 Jan 02
Katrinka: "If he had I probably would of shot him.. which… I’m kind of glad I didn’t have to." she admited. At the door she was unlocking it again for them to step out on to the sidewalk. And then repeating the motion. "I was wondering about your criminal career though… what made you leave that, if you don’t mind me asking? -07:26 Jan 02
Arthur: "I have a lead nudge and though a while about what I needed to be happy, and how I could get that without all the risk and danger. Becides I was putting on bulk with all the climbing and they were making vents and windows smaller and smaller. And vent you can crawl though all the way inside is a myth. You’ll be lucky to fit your hand through some of them. -07:30 Jan 02
Katrinka: She was imagining that for a moment until she finally laughed and shook her head at him. "Oh is that all? No time in prison, or something like that? I have to admit that for a day or two after the hospital I was a little worried I screwed up again and trusted the wrong person. But I like to think I still have good instincts about people…" Katrinka took his arm again, casting him a curious look. "Were you a -successful- bank robber?" -07:33 Jan 02
Arthur: "The lead nudge was a bullet." he said glancing at her. "And yet, I was, but who would admit to being robbed when you business depends on you keeping things safe?" he rubbed the back of his neck. "I had enough to set up my company and make a name for myself.. and enough to… I live confortably." -07:37 Jan 02
Katrinka: "Your secret is safe with me. I should be somewhere random around the world by the end of the weekend. I think. Haven’t quite got that planned yet." Hmm, she had meant to leave it at that, but you can’t just hear someone was a former robber and not get -really- curious about the details. Especially if they never got caught. "…so you got shot, wanted a better life… yet you’re afraid to have yourself a romance? That doesn’t sound like the whole happiness thing you were mentioning earlier." -07:55 Jan 02
[Arthur enters.] -08:00 Jan 02
[(Timeout) Arthur got too distracted for their own good…] -08:09 Jan 02
Arthur: "Part of the happiness I’m after is not endangering anyone I don’t have to." he said. "Which is why I wanted that asshole outside where you and your guests would be safe. It’s my job after all." he stepped outside and unlocked the SUV he drove. "K.I.S.S." -08:10 Jan 02
Katrinka: "I still don’t think he was a cop. Cops don’t act like that." With the doors unlocked, she slipped in to the passenger’s seat and fussed with the seatbelt. With amusement she was examining the inside of the of. Family car, not a criminal car… "You’re one hundred percent positive he wasn’t there to do anything else but hassle you?" -08:15 Jan 02
Arthur: He pot in and did up his seatbelt and started the car with a jury ridgged thumbprint scanner. "As you so kindly pointed out they never caught me. They’ve been trying to proove it was me since I changed my career. Al they ever managed to get me on was posession of stolen property when my returning of a certain national treasure was traced. They have enough proof to convict me, they just dont want to explain how they got it. Heh… assholes." -08:20 Jan 02
Katrinka: Katrinka leaned in her seat to check out the scanner. -That- was high tech for a car. "I almost wish I knew all this before, Arthur. I could have much more subtly had you falling in love." She pointed at the ignition. "How can I get one of those… for doors!" -08:27 Jan 02
[Katrinka is intruigued by fancy security equiptment, and it’s pretty obvious why!] -06:10 Jan 05
[Arthur is not really thinking abou what to say, but about bakes potatoe and gravy.] -06:18 Jan 05
Katrinka: Katrinka was a lover of food. Didn’t matter that she could only cook if she had detailed instructions and pictures. It was just nice to sit in a very public place having dinner. It felt better than take-out at home, anyway. "Where do you think is the best place in the world to live, Arty?" she asked curiously, picking up a bottle of sauce from the table to add to her steak. He was a former criminal and a current security guy. He’d know the best places! -06:24 Jan 05
Arthur: "Switserland." he said right away as he look a seat and without even looking at the menu placed his order. "Stout and baked potatoe." he said before licking his lips. "Clean air, good politicians, compusory military servise, what’s not to like?" -06:30 Jan 05
Katrinka: She looked a little doubtful about that. "Isn’t Switzerland the place all the criminals go to when they’re trying to flee the country? Now how is that supposed to be a safe place…" Although, Katrinka did like the sound of snowy winters and pretty mountain cabins. She found a straw to play wth and twist up in her hands. "Okay, so not best place in the world since you’re clearly biased, but the safest one?" -06:34 Jan 05
Arthur: "Almost no crime, stays neutral in every war. Really I’d still be there if I had a choice. And I think you’re thinking of Rio, I’ll have to look it up to be sure but I think Switserland might have an extridition treaty with the US… but then I havn’t been looking to flee anywhere in years. They have the highest average lifespan too if I’m not mistaken…" -06:37 Jan 05
Katrinka: "You really do know a lot about it, don’t you." She grinned. Of course she figured he would, but then again she really wasn’t expecting the extra tidbits of knowledge. Katrinka rest her arms on the table and leaned forward. "I was thinking I’d take my money and give a new place a shot. To hop a plane tonight or the morning and see what happens when I get there. I’ve told hundreds of clients to go throw themselves in to adventures and I’ve never even tried it myself." -06:42 Jan 05
Arthur: "So you DO have plans tonight." He said leaning back in his chair and claping his hands behind his head. "Pity." he closed his eyes and sighed, at ease with his surroundings and company. "Take it from someone who has had adventures, they’re good to have had, not always good to be having." -06:47 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Not really plans. More like… possibilities?" Katrinka took the opportunity that he was relaxed to wade up the paper of her straw and flick it at him. She grinned. "But I guess it depends on the sort of adventure you find yourself getting in to, right? I thinking of somewhere miles away where no one knows me, or my reputation, or anything about me, and might possibly involve warm fireplaces and loads of trees." -06:51 Jan 05
Arthur: "I think you know what country I’m about to name so I don’t even have to make the effort." he opened one eye to look at her and the stretched. "You desurve to relax and forget things for a while. Everyone needs to sometimes." -06:55 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Switzerland again." she cast him a wry smile, resting her chin in her hand. "Is that what you did? Minus fleeing the country. Find yourself a new place to live, build up a new life, forget things… …did it work?" -06:59 Jan 05
Arthur: "I’m here aren’t I, so no, it didn’t. One day interpol came up to my door and told my fiance everything, I came home to an empty house and a note, after that the country kind of lost it’s charm. That’s why I’m up front about it now. If the police are reciording with taps and/or bugs they have enough to convict me ten times over. But that seemed to have lost interest in me until the one night I didn’t want them to show up." -07:02 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Ah… so you are determined to avoid a new romance because your fiance left, rather than because of potential dangers. Since you’re no longer in that business and all." Katrinka had known about his former fiance, but it wasn’t a subject they discussed. Wrapping up everything at the service had been madness, she barely had the time to meddle in the affairs of employees… "I guess you’re going to tell me now that running away is a terrible idea?" -07:08 Jan 05
Arthur: "You saw what can happen to me, would you honestly want to go through that with me doing your boyfriend, or husband?" he shook his head. "And no, I’m not, but if you expect me to say that then you obviously have some doubts yourself." he unclasped his hands and brought his arms forwards to lean against the table. "Do YOU think it’s a good idea?" -07:14 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Honestly, I think if someone loves you they are going to stick with you no matter what happens to you. Prison, murder, cops and all. …but then I am a hopeless romantic who spent the past five years trying to make people’s perfect matches." A grin and a shrug. She did have doubts, she had them about everything. But talking about him was so much easier! "I think it’s better than struggling with a failed business and listening to people say ‘Poor Katrinka’ every time I talk to them? I just want to be doing something." -07:21 Jan 05
Arthur: Chainge your carreer to the oposite of what you do and open your own business, wored for me. Maybe you’d me a divorse lawyar, or a marriage councelor." he examined her face and then leaned back as the drinks arived. "Or you could make a match for yourself and becime a kept woman." -07:24 Jan 05
Katrinka: Katrinka laughed, leaning to the side so she was out of the waitresses way, then taking her beer for a sip. She shook her head. "No thanks! The last thing I want to see are angry bitter lovers." Another drink, and she was dismissing the rest of his comment with a shrug of a shoulder. "I did try, you know. I was finally dating someone and then that whole mess happened. He worked for the FBI and the guilt got to him so bad he couldn’t even look at me anymore." -07:28 Jan 05
Arthur: "Maybe because you can’t make matched for yourself as easily as for others, and that was a terrible thing to happen to anybody, and if has bad conseqiences, but at least he was honest and didn’t drag things out while they wer awkward for him?" he placed his hand on hers. "If I’ve learned one thing it’s that this is a mad cracy word and that isn’t changing, we just do what we think is best one day after another." -07:35 Jan 05
Katrinka: Her mouth twist up in a half frown and she found herself tapping the knuckles of his hand with her free fingers. "I don’t blame him for it, and I understand it. I just…" She hadn’t ever had this conversation with someone. Not like this. It really was always poor girl, and ‘lets talk about something else!’. "You know there was another girl, she worked for me for a little bit. Not even a few weeks. Her grandfather always came in to the place thinking it was still the old hotel. There is only her and me left and she is in a crazy house clear out of her mind, and sometimes I wonder why it’s not me. Or why it was me and I’m not one of the dozen people dead right now. And… you =really- don’t need to hear any of this. So, Switzerland..?" -07:44 Jan 05
Arthur: "Drake McCrew." he said. "The man, no that’s not the right word, the thing that did this… was probably saving you for last. I’ve worked with a lot of sick people, you would have been one of those people if he hadn’t have been stopped. No, just be happy he was?" he leaned back taking his hand away from hers and used it to lift his drink to his lips. "I may not need to hear about it, but you may need to talk about it. I’m a far cry fro a therapist but I still have ears." -07:51 Jan 05
Katrinka: "I already have a therapist. I guess with the service finally closed, it’s just sort of…there." At least she didn’t cringe at the name. The guy was dead, and she had let it go. For the most part. "You’ve already done a lot for me, Arty. You ended up in the hospital, and I know you think it was some cop out to harass you, but I really don’t think it was. And no matter what I do, I never feel safe." -08:00 Jan 05
Arthur: He sighed. "Will going to another city change that?" he placed his glass down and looked at her. "You remember what I said, think about what you need to be happy, then set yourself up to get them easily. Simple. What do you need to be happy?" -08:08 Jan 05
Katrinka: Katrinka leaned on the table, casting him a rather devious smirk. "That’s pretty easy. I’d like an imprenatrable fortress. Endless security personel. A job I adore and feel passionate about. Someone that isn’t afraid to hold me at night. And to be able to walk down the street and meet new people without constantly being afraid that they’re secretly a murderer." -08:12 Jan 05
Arthur: "So you want to shut yourself away from the world and never talk to it again? And you know endless security is my job so that is easy. Also heres a fun fact, I almost names my company Guardian Angel. But it seemed pretencious." he was steering the subject away from thing now but still giving her room to wiggle if she still have something to say. -08:28 Jan 05
Katrinka: "It would have been kind of pretentious, yeah." she laughed again, seeming to relax again. She reached for her beer and took another sip, still giving him that smirk as if she was winning some sort of argument. "I don’t want to hide all day. Just at night so I can sleep better. So this means when I get my fortress I’m going to have my very own team of Knight Guards?" He could make terrible puns, so could she. As if she had been going for the setup the entire time. -08:33 Jan 05
Arthur: He raised an eyebrow at her and folded his arms. "Alright, alright I get it. You’re playing me. So you want security and what else, stop with the alusions and get to brass tacks. What do you want, what are you getting at?" he looked at her across the table and tapped his arm with his fingers as he waited. -08:51 Jan 05
Katrinka: Katrinka had apparently accidentally just hired him again. It’s not what she meant to do but… now that it was on the table, she played it off as if it -was-. Security was what she needed, wasn’t it? "If I was going to be serious about it… I’d have to buy a new home first. Something that could at least be made to feel secure. Good locks and windows. Maybe cameras or something. I can do that. It’d be nice to have my own knight cavalry, but I don’t think I can afford that…" -08:59 Jan 05
Arthur: He eyed her and frowned. "Security I can do, a house before tonight I can’t. Honestly I thought with that list and that look on your face you were asking to love in with me." he tapped his chin, so, where do YOU want to live. You can’t jump on a plane without a destination." -09:06 Jan 05
Katrinka: She laughed again and all looks of deviousness were gone! She looked a little surprised and exasperated. "I have no idea! I had every intention of just picking the first flight that looked cheap and interesting. And now, I don’t know. I’d love the time to really think about it, but my apartment is already sold and I honestly don’t want to spend the night at the service." She couldn’t believe he actually thought she was asking to live with him. …yet… wouldn’t that be the safest place to be while you were looking for somewhere else? Katrinka cast him a dubious but curious glance. "…IF I asked to come and stay with you, would you let me? I mean, I wouldn’t want to be a pain in the ass and I know it’s stupid, but… I did feel a lot better knowing you were watching over me at the party and a decent night’s sleep would be nice…" -09:11 Jan 05
Arthur: I have a spare roon, the beds are soft and the eggs cooked to perfection." he said. "Do you want to? It’s no biggie if you need a place to feel safe. And if you need platonic snuggling to sleep well I have arms." he leaned stopped talkign as their meals arived and was immediatly reaching over to poar gravy over his potatoe and wait for it to cool. -09:16 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Since you’ve so generously offered a bed -and- snuggles, how can I not accept? You just remember that you offered later, because I am a very clingy bedmate." She was kidding. Mostly. …actually having someone hold her and curl up in bed with her would be awesome. Katrinka never denied being hopelessly affectionate and she really, really missed that. "The question is… do I pay you for babysitting me, or wait until things are a bit more official?" -09:26 Jan 05
Arthur: "Wait until you have an income." he said. "if you get one, so long as you don’t eat me out of house and home, which would be a challenge because it woule mena out eating me." as if to prove this the dug into his potapoe and with steanm still risin from it shoved a chunk into his jowles and chewed happily. -09:48 Jan 05
Katrinka: "I like good meals, but I think it’ll be okay." Katrinka smiled at him, adding a bit of her confiscated sauce to her steak, and doing some very precise cutting of pieces long before she took a bite. "I can handle finances pretty well. The business was doing great before my reputation went to hell. So you won’t notice a thing missing while I’m there." -09:51 Jan 05
Arthur: "I have enough eyes in that place to knwo if anything goes missing." he said with a grin. "But you have to try ome of this." eh said slicing off a chunk of potatoe and dropping it into her plate before havking off another chunk and devouring it. "It has to be the best bakes potatoe ever created." -09:59 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Would you like me to be domestic while I’m there, inbetween me hunting for a new passion and a new home?" He was adorably enthusiastic about food and with a grin that was infectious. This was why she liked Arthur over other companies. Katrinka tried the potatoes, not at all surprised to find they were pretty good. "…though I really -can’t- cook like this. I can follow instructions, but it never quite goes as planned." -10:02 Jan 05
Arthur: "You don’t have to worry about cooking." he said. "I have an itallian grandmother who withed she had a grandaughter. I can roast a roast and bake a bake. Which is what I usually do, but we’re celebrating so…" he picked up his glass and raised it. "To your temporary occomodations." -10:08 Jan 05
Katrinka: Katrinka grinned wide, lifting her glass to toast with his, and for the first time in a week actually feeling like she knew what she was doing. "To unexpected new possibilities, then! And an adventure that doesn’t end badly?" -10:10 Jan 05
Arthur: "Let’s hope not." he said before taking a gulp from his glass and set it down. "I have to remember I still have to drive… well I might have some schnapps if you want a glass after we get back. in the meantime, let’s not worry about abything else. -10:14 Jan 05

AT THE VERY MYSTERIOUS ARTHUR’S HOME! -Katrinka

Arthur: He pushed the key into the lock and pushed open the door. "Excuse the mess, or that is what I would say if there was one…" the place was slightly cluttered but tidy, with pictures ont he walls, soft seating and various odds and ends, but no sign on any security. "You can dump your suitcase anywhere then do you want the tour?" -10:35 Jan 05
Katrinka: What amused her was how similar their living habits seemed to be. He wasn’t fussy about keeping things neat, but he clearly kept it up enough to not make it uncomfortable. Not a camera or alarm in sight, though. So when she set down her suitcase on the floor, she was looking a bit dubious about the idea. "Well, it’s not what I was expecting, but it looks nice. I’d love a tour, too. Specifically the place I get to sleep? And the bathroom! A girl needs direct access to the bathroom." -10:39 Jan 05
Arthur: "Right this way." he said and and eaded up a flight of stairs and opened a door. "The bedroom." he said showing her peobable the least cluttered room in the house, but is still have an antique cupboard, sideboard, pictures, and a small table with a couple of chairs. "…And one second…" he opened the door into the ensuit and climbed up onto a stood to remove a small hidden panel near the ceiling to pull out a camera and unplu it before replacing the panel. "I think you’d thank me for that." -10:51 Jan 05
Katrinka: "Ah… secret security!" That was clever! Bad guys wouldn’t know they were being watched. Katrinka cast him and pretty amused grin as she shifted to put her hands on the furniture… genuine antiques! She loved old things! "For a single man living alone, you give a really personal touch to things… that’s kind of nice." She may have been accidentally adding these things to a mental checklist of positive qualities… old habits died hard! -10:54 Jan 05
Arthur: "I like to have things I like. Who doesn’t? Besides these old things took someone time. effort, and skill to make, unlike anything you’ll buy from ikea or anywhere liek that. I likt to think that whoever made these put a lot of time, effort, love, and frustation into making them. Makes them all that nicer to have around?" He exited the bathroom and stretched. "Don’t you like thing that took timeand effort to create?" -11:03 Jan 05
Katrinka: She retracted her hands quick. No need to look like the crazy woman fondling furniture. "I have a weakness for handmade things. A good majority of the things I owned were antiques or made for me by clients." Maybe there was a small hint of regret at selling everything. But it was too late to be concerned about it now. "Where do you sleep, then?" -11:06 Jan 05
Arthur: The question caught him as absurd. "Right there." he pointed at the bed."But if you don’t want ~all night~ platonic snuggles I’ll go to the other bedroom which doesn’t have an ensuit. It’s no big deal, I don’t have my nerve center here. That’s in my pocket." -11:14 Jan 05
Katrinka: Whoops…! Her face was far too expressive for it’s own good. So it far too easily conveyed that look of surprise, the doubt, the amusement, more doubt, and finally the rolling of her eyes as she seemed to come to a conclusion. Katrinka crossed the floor quick to hug him before he changed his mind. Or she did. "I’ve got to stop making teasing jokes, because you keep taking me up on the offer, and then I realize I wasn’t really joking at all…" -11:19 Jan 05
Arthur: "I wasn’t talkign about sex." he said mphaticly. "I don’t think either of us is looking for that, but a pair of arms around you as you sleep I can do. I’ll even keep my vest on. Now… something to drink? Anything you can name and I’ll tell you if I have it." -11:24 Jan 05
Katrinka: "No, no. definitely not sex. But this is good! Platonic, no expectation snuggles. A non-relationship that can’t get mucked up by romance or drama and we can walk away from in one peace." she was blabbering again. Spewing her thoughts out loud when they weren’t necessary. "..um, you did mention schnapps. I like just about all snchapps except the apple. I guess I could get my suitcase and change my clothes. And you.. you just wear whatever you please to bed! It’s YOUR bed and I’m not afraid of half naked men." -11:29 Jan 05
Arthur: He oved towards the door. "One glass each should be plenty, it’s not soemthing I drink a lot of to get drunk, I don’t really like getting drunk." he headed down the strairs and next to the door took off his shoes to place them down on a shelf and pull of his socks. Then he he opening an antique liquor cabinet and taking out a bottle and dissapearing into the kitchen. -11:41 Jan 05
Katrinka: She was crazy. Though, this was a lot less crazy than hopping a plane out of the country. This might actually be saner than she thought. Katrinka left the room to retrieve her suitcase, then carried it back up the stairs to her – HIS – room! As if there couldn’t be snuggles in the guestroom, he didn’t have to offer up his bed. Stepping in to the bathroom where she knew it would be camera-free, she changed in so some soft pajamas. Thank goodness she kept something that -wasn’t- screaming sexy. After a few moments she had her hair brushed through too, and all her usual before bed rituals. Including organizing some of her things amongst his in the bathroom. Better. Katrinka exited and immediately made a running jump in to bed. Soft…! He liked nice soft beds. Positive quality checklist was over run. -11:47 Jan 05
Arthur: He rounded the sorner in slacks and a vest and holding two glasses. "Made yourself comfortable?" he asked Plaging them on the bedside table and sitting down. "Do you want anythign to read too… the side board is full of books if you want to take a look." -12:03 Jan 06
Katrinka: "I might try a book tomorrow. Tonight, I’m just praying I can actually sleep without tossing and turning. …which, I apologize in advance if I’m terrible bed company? You can always throw me in the other room if I elbow you in the face." Katrinka very reluctantly sat up and ran her hands through her hair. "When’s the last time you had a woman in your bed, anyway? If you don’t mind me asking?" -12:12 Jan 06
Arthur: "This should help." he said passing her a glass and propping a pillow against the headboard to sit up against it. "Would have to be more than five years." he said. taking a sip and glancng at her. "And before you ge any ideas no, no men, not ever." he sighed and slowly rubbed his fingers into the side fo his neck. "I’m just not the kind of guy to put out on the first date." -12:22 Jan 06
Katrinka: "No men. I knew that by looking at you. I’m good at what I do. I was, anyway." A quick drink from her glass was followed by a welcomed sigh. Beer was great with dinner, but schnaps and soft liquors were her favorite for bed. It always warmed her up and slowed her whirlwind of thoughts down. Katrinka moved until she was sitting next to him, legs touching but nothing more. This platonic snuggling needed to be tested before jumping in. "That’s a long time. You’re well over due for some holding. It’s not wonder you’re terrified to be my client." There was that deviant smile again. -12:27 Jan 06
Arthur: "Not terrified." he protested. "Just don’t see the point. I have my house, I have my car, I have everything I need, I sleep well, I wake up early, I put on my tie, and I go to work. I like what I do and I’m happy. Can’t tell me you’ve had boyfriends constantly your whole adult life." he took another sip and looked at her before shifting until thier sides were touching. "I just think you want to match me because you think I’m an interestign challenge." -12:35 Jan 06
Katrinka: "I like interesting challenges." This was good. No romantic setup, no candles, no music. No perfect-scene setup. Maybe she’d finally have a moment of feeling normal again, and while she was at it… fix him too. "You had a fiance once and it wasn’t your choice she left. Which means you want love in your life. You’re just being too stubborn to look for it. And there’s no sense in arguing with me about it, because love is my business." A long drink, and she was casting him a big smug smirk. She’d talk him down in his own bed, didn’t matter a bit! -12:41 Jan 06
Arthur: "I used to, now it doesn’t really matter." he took a sip and nudgd her. "You get used to it. Eventually you just stop looking, and stop picturing yourself with anyone. And reall I can’t imagine myself coming home every day and talking about that I do. Who’d want to hear about that? Speaking of… nah… another time." -12:52 Jan 06
Katrinka: Yep, definitely stubborn. However, she was well practiced with stubborn men. They always met their match… hee! Katrinka grinned. "Have I told you that I also have a big problem with curiosity and it’s not wise to bring something up and then not actually tell me? I start snooping." -12:59 Jan 06
Arthur: ".. Fine." he said reaching over to pick up his phone, activating the archives stored somewhere at work and vrought up footage from Katrinka’s party where who clients were getting frisky in a storage closet and handed it over. "You do good work, look at them." he carefully gauged her reaction wonderign if to her this was overstepping. "I’m sure they missed everything that happened." -01:03 Jan 06
[Katrinka enters.] -01:05 Jan 06
Katrinka: "Holy crap!" He really did put cameras -everywhere-! If he thought she might be shocked or scandelized… well. She clearly did a good job of acting the lady. Phone in hand, she tilted her head, the most amused expression on her features. And it… it really got steamy! "…I didn’t know he was that flexible, He really should have put that on his resume…" -01:09 Jan 06
Arthur: "Hey, do you set people up for relationships or sex?" he stuck out his tongue before putting his arm around her and watching over her shoulder. "This is the best part, then he glances right at the camera and doesn’t even see it and then… woops tables turned just like that." -01:16 Jan 06
Katrinka: "This is awful… Hookups happen and I’ve caught so many people. I’ve never had video evidence before." And why was she even watching this? …aside from the fact anybody could learn a thing or two. She remembered this girl, she was the dance instructor with the fetish for tight spaces. Katrinka drank the last of the contents in her glass and passed it to him. …and then a crinch! "Oh gods, that has to hurt… that’s just. Oooh… going on the list." -01:20 Jan 06
Arthur: He placed her glass down and drained his. "You have a list?" he asked, intriqued. "A list of sexual acts you want performed on you and you want to perform on people?" that was something, good to have goals he guessed, she was a love dealer after all. "You’ll have to let me take a peek at that sometime." -01:24 Jan 06
Katrinka: She pulled his phone away, hiding the screen against her shoulder, as if her list was on there. Which more than likely meant it was habitutally something she did with her own phone or pad. "Everyone has a list. Someone are just more open about it than others. …and no man alive has ever seen mine! Actually, it’s kind of embarrassing. Especially when you say it like that." -01:30 Jan 06
[(Timeout) Katrinka got too distracted for their own good…] -01:34 Jan 06
Arthur: "I don’t." he said pulling away since his phone was officially stolen and with a snap of his fingers the main light turned off and the bedside lamp turned on and he was settling down to resr his head on the pillow. :befor you try, all the other files are passworded." -01:34 Jan 06
Katrinka: "Of course you do. Whether you realize you do or not." Oh right, this was -his- phone! Katrinka shifted until she pushed back the covers and slipped under them. The light of the phone dimmed and finally shut off. Luckily just in time for her to lean over him and set it on the nightstand. He eyes had to adjust to the dark. "I get the best information when it’s confessed to me, by the way. I don’t have to snoop." -01:37 Jan 06
Arthur: There was an arm shooting out and pulling her against a warm, hard chest and less hard but still warm stomach, but there was anboubtedly a lot of muscle under the fat. "I snoop, it’s my job, guess I figured you’d be good at it too. You need to be to get the information you need right? And I don’t have a list, sex isn’t something I generally thing about, unless I’m watching it. Which is suprisingly often. You shoudl come by the business sometime." -01:45 Jan 06
Katrinka: Ooooh. There was a brief tense moment of surprise -01:47 Jan 06
Katrinka: Ooooh. There was a brief tense moment of surprise, before she relaxed. Curling up over and against him until her ear was pressed against his heart. Warm… this was a surprisingly good idea. "So you spend all day watching dirty videos, Arthur? Gottta be the best job ever." she mumbled with a soft laugh. -01:49 Jan 06
Arthur: "Not every day is one where I safeguard a dating service." he said Pulling the blanket around her and then Closing hsi eyes. "Sleep well K. If you need anything you know where to find me." -01:53 Jan 06
