GENERAL CHARACTER STATISTICS

Character Name: Kendal Novellino-Davidson.
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Birthplace: Autumn Mansion outside the city limits of Elswen.
Occupation: Chief Editor at The Chronicle Tabloid
Family: Younger Sister: Sasha, Older Sister: Blair (Dead), Husband: Samual Davidson (Dead), Parents: Celeste & Mac (In Andes) Grandparents: Mai & Howard (In Rio). Butler: Harrison. Unknown Niece she’s never met, due to Blair’s bastard Husband.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

General Appearance: Dark red hair, dark green eyes, slightly tanned skin from lots of sun, and an average adult woman body. While at work, Kendal is dressed perfectly appropriate and business-like in neat and tidy little suits with sensible shoes. At home or out in the “wild” of Elswen, she favors simple jeans and plain cotton shirts. Always feminine but never overly girly. Her hair is usually kept in a pony tail to keep it our of the way, and she rarely wears more makeup than a light foundation and a little lipstick.
Strengths: Endurance. Kendal has always been the more “active” of her sisters, and involved in various activities. She can do a lot of constant activity before getting really tired.
Weaknesses: She doesn’t have a lot of “muscle” or brute strength. It something requires heavy lifting, pushing, ass kicking… she’ll get someone else to do all that psychical work.

MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS

Current Goal/Purpose: Kendal’s “life plan” fell apart when she lost Sam. Now she’s just trekking it day-to-day and focusing on work.
Talents: Kendal is a brilliant witch. Genius witch. A force to be reckoned with. Possibly the most talented witch this side of the hemisphere. She can whip up a spell off the top of her head, cast magic without words, and do extraordinary things. But she doesn’t. [See Fears and History.]
Inabilities: Admitting when she’s wrong. Admitting when it’s time to let go. Handling personal issues.
Fears: Kendal’s greatest fear is that she’s going to royally fuck up and do something out of control if she starts using her magic again. She made a huge mistake after Sam died, and the consequences messed her up. Thanks to the event, she now also has a paralyzing fear of zombies. She’ll blank out and not be able to move/function.
General Personality: Kendal is a “no nonsense” sort of person these days. She’s focused on working. Nothing BUT working and missing out on the fun of life. She seems to be stuck in a permanent bad mood, always being sarcastic, and occasionally rude. It’s rare when anyone sees her chilling out or relaxing.
Inner Personality: Kendal isn’t ALL bad, but it’s near impossible to spend enough time with her to find out. She loves her family with a blind loyalty. She cares about the safety and well being of her friends (even when it sounds like she just wants you to get lost.) Kendal’s just hiding behind her bad moods to cover the fact that she’s still very upset about the loss of her husband along with her dreams, and has yet to let go. If she can find her way back to herself again, she’s that witty girl with grand ideas, admirable talents, and the ability to pull people together.
Secret: That big zombie attack a couple years ago, where the entire Elswen cemetery was raised as brain-feasting undead… that was Kendal’s fault. The only person that knows what happened (or how it happened) is Dane.

HISTORIC BACKGROUND

General History:
Born as the middle sister in the Novellino family, one would think Kendal was dying for attention. Her older sister, Blair, was the wild-child, always doing outrageous, possibly illegal things and getting involved in the wrong crowd. Her little sister, Sasha, was being showered with attention and being spoiled as the ‘baby’ of the family. Kendal, well, she was just fine with her place. Kendal was the go-to girl, the idea maker, the baler-outer. Out of the three girls, Kendal had the brightest gift. When Blair would get herself in to some deep trouble, it was Kendal that dreamed up a rescue plan without them all getting caught. If Sasha wanted something special and their parents said it was impossible, Kendal was the one that figured out how to do it, even if it meant trying to squeeze a whale in to a swimming pool.

Kendal wasn’t just always doing things for her sisters, though! She had her own dreams and agendas! As a young girl and a teenager, she was a part of several school clubs. Journalism and the “Sci-Fi” clubs were her favorite. She was heavily involved in school events, from Homecoming to Prom. Kendal wanted a badass job, to marry her sweetheart, have kids, get a cool house and live her charmed life!

At some point Blair met a man and ran away from home. Her sisters were pissed off and thought it was a bad idea, Kendal especially. But Blair just wouldn’t budge. Months later they received word that Blair had gotten married. Occasionally she’d send letters, but eventually even those stopped.

In college, Kendal did indeed marry her highschool sweetheart, Sam Davidson! She was studying journalism, and he was going through training to work on the police & task forces of Elswen. After graduation, they bought a small house and were living happily. Planning to have a family in the near future. They’d hang out with friends and family, including Sam’s partner Dane, Kendal’s coworkers at The Chronicle, and even met the morning show DJs. Life was great!

And then Sam died. It was one of those unavoidable events, and he was killed on duty at work. Kendal just fell apart. She barely remembers what happened during those weeks before the funeral. Sasha was there along with Dane. The funeral was a blur. Her house was sold, things packed away and Kendal moved in to the Autumn Manor with Sasha.

A few days after the funeral, Kendal had seemed to “snap out” of her melancholy. Sasha knew something was up, so when Kendal left the house late at night with one of the Magic Books, she immediately called Dane to check up on her. Kendal headed to the cemetery, where she tried casting one hell of a spell to bring Sam back to life. She was upset and wasn’t thinking. The result was the entire cemetery being raised as zombies, including Sam. If Dane hadn’t shown up Kendal would have died.

Not long after they received word that their sister Blair had also died. There was a HUGE fight about getting Blair’s remains (they never got to see their sister alive, and then they couldn’t see her dead either!). Blair’s husband has since disappeared as well. They know of a young niece, but haven’t been able to find her. Kendal suspects a lot of foul play concerning Blair, especially with how difficult it’s been trying to find the man.

Present Life:
After the incident, Kendal stopped using her magic. Period. (At least not to help herself. Occasionally her sister or someone else will be in trouble and she’ll “sneak” a spell. Or those situations where she flat out gets pissed off.) She’s thrown herself so deeply in to her work that she earned herself quite a few promotions and is now Chief Editor. Kendal doesn’t have a social life anymore unless Sasha talks her in to something, or she needs to do something for the Paper. Even though she’s Editor, Kendal spends all of her free time digging up new stories for The Chronicle. Crazy suicidal stories. She seems to be looking for dangerous stories quite deliberately.

Lately, Dane seems to be around far too often to “save the day” and Kendal suspects he’s either tailing her, or Sasha has tipped him off to keep an eye on her. She takes out a lot of her anger/frustration on Dane in an effort to get rid of him, but he’s been pretty consistent.

Kendal is about at another breaking point where she is either going to hurt someone/herself or finally just give up. She’s teetering on the edge so badly that the ghost of Sam is now haunting Sasha in a plot to do something about her before it’s too late.
