Princess Katarin Ioso

Job/Role: Princess of Liyao, Uncrowned Queen.
Age: 19

General Appearance: Frosty blond hair, light blue eyes, delicate 4’8″ frame, thin wispy body. Pale skin with a healthy rosy hue. She looks very much like a fragile pixie. She wears her hair up in a intricate twist of curls and braids. Crystal earrings and necklace. Her dress and normal clothing usually consists of fine silks and satins in light colors and fabrics, adding to the ethereal look. (This keeps with Liyao tradition for their Female Royalty.)
Current Goal/Purpose: Protect Liyao
General Personality: Katarin is not what you would call a very forceful individual. She lacks aggression and at a first glance seems to be easily intimidated by stronger personalities. This does seem to be the case in most areas of her personal life. She hates to to argue and will find the quickest way to excuse herself from any fight. Yet, when it comes to ruling her planet, Katarin’s will is immovable. She knows what is right for her people and will not bend. This came as a great surprise to Lorgunan who assumed the Princess would be completely overtaken shortly after the unexpected death of her Father and King. Katarin has an inner strength and dedication to her world that drives her.
General History:
Princess Katarin Ioso was born only heir and daughter to the great King Elias and his wife Queen Lanarin. It was with a great deal of grief that Liyao lost their queen during childbirth that night. The King never remarried or had any other heirs. Katarin was raised and instilled with all of Liyao tradition and education. Her studies being focused on what would be best for ruling Liyao, how a proper Princess and future Queen should behave, and Intergalactic Relations with outer worlds. She has taken this all on with the grace and responsibility that a young royal should.

A year ago, the death of King Elias came suddenly and with surprise. It was quite unexpected, and still had yet to be properly explained. Lorgunan, one of the members of Planetary Parliament and famed for his Samaritan deeds towards struggling worlds stepped in to help Liyao during it’s time of need. Katarin only having just turned 19 was not yet of age to be crowned Queen, and Lorgunan insisted that it was a danger for her to rule alone during such a dangerous time.

During this time, Lorgunan start slowly usurping power from the councilmen and advisers of Liyao. People were fired, came up missing. He pressed the Princess to make unusual doctrines that were increasingly looking very bad for the planet. By the time Katarin realized what was happening, Lorgunan had full control over her capital city. With Katarin aware, Lorgunan dropped all pretenses. He needed the armies of Liyao. Katarin refused. She ordered him to leave, but found that he had replaced all of her people with his own. There was no one within the main castle loyal to her. Yet, Lorgunan knew that he could not simply over take the planet without repercussions. Even now there was rumors of the people being suspicious. He needed Katarin as his public figure, someone that Liyao had loyalty to and that the Parliament respected. With Katarin’s consistent refusal, even despite personal harm, Lorgunan finally forced her hand by making a ‘public’ show of executing young children from the village. Katarin could no longer refuse.

Present Date: Thanks to a rebellion of people trying their hardest, Katarin has managed to ferret messages to spies when possible. Unfortunately, her deeds had been found out and Lorgunan imprisoned her. Her escaped came unexpectedly, and now she is in the safe hands of the Rebellion!

Character Name: Canada

Gender: Female

Job/Role: Explosives Specialist

Age: 26

General Appearance: Dark greenish black hair in a shoulder length cut. Everyone comments on the weird shade of her hair, but she loves it that way. Especially because it makes her olive green eyes really pop. Her skin is a pearly pale that she finds to be a pain in the ass. Every time she gets hot, embarrassed, hot n’ bothered, or pissy her cheeks will turn a bright red. It really makes it hard to mask emotions. Canada’s usual attire is dark blue leather that she “modified” to look good and sexy, and hug her curves. She likes standing out in the crowd.

Current Goal/Purpose: VIVA LA REVOLUTION! Free the Galaxy from Lorgunan’s tyranny! Get a hot date!

General Personality: Canada is a wild horse. Everything she wants, she accomplishes in a very dominating and chaotic way. Her voice can carry across an entire base, she flirts shamelessly with any handsome man (and often woman) she sees, pissing her off is like lighting a firecracker in a room of newspapers. But, Canada is honest, good to her friends, trustworthy, and dependable. Canada will always have your back, even if she’s kicking you in the ass while she’s got it.

General History:
Canada was born the third child to a very large family. Growing up was nothing exciting or special, just the occasional chaos with fighting between siblings, cousins, crazy family reunions, etc. She joined up in the family business, making of fireworks and other explosive goodies. Life was pretty good, up until the death of King Elias of Liyao. That was a depressing blow and allowed for that uppity asshole Lorgunan to move on in and wreck everything. The family had a undying loyalty to their ruling family, and refused to do business with some cutthroat. In the process it put them out of business, and during one of the raids in the inner city the family was separated.

Recent History: After one of her brothers was killed during on of Lorgunan’s take-overs, Canada decided revenge was best served with a plate of explosives. She’s joined up with the rebellion as a Explosives Specialist, and there’s not a person around that can cause as much damage as she can.

[dotted=]Princess Katarin Ioso

Psssst!” Came a whisper from behind the long velvet curtains that hung along the entire expanse of the wall. There was a subtle movement behind them, then the sound again. “Pssssst!

Katarin walked slowly, turning the page of a book in her hand. She stopped next to the curtain, turning slightly to the side so her face was well blocked from the windows and doors. “It’s broad daylight. You’re going to get yourself killed.” She hissed quietly.

The curtain moved guiltily. “Forgive me, but it’s urgent news. What you overheard is true. A rebellion has been on the move for months now. The outskirt villages that managed to escape the recruiting have joined up as refugees and he found out about them. By the end of the month he plans to have most of the towns burned and tell Parliament that the Rebels are trying to destroy Liyao because of the succession.”

Her fingers tightened on the edges of the book, but her face remained passive. “They don’t realize how far his hands reach… do they know yet? If Parliament believes they are attacking Liyao, they’ll send their own forces after them. Lorgunan won’t even have to move a finger.”

“…No. Wen has the Skipper ready and we’re leaving right away. He says if we get there fast enough, the rebellion can send ships to evacuate the villages before they’re burned. If there’s no bodies, maybe Parliament would find the situation suspicious and finally get their heads out of their as-”

“Jinak…” she gently interrupted him. “Hurry and go. We’ve wasted precious minutes all ready.”

“Aye, Princess Katarin. Be safe.” There was a soft shuffle from behind the curtain, a few footsteps and he was gone.

Katarin moved away from the wall, a frown slowly spreading across her face. She set the book down on the table as she wrapped her arms around herself. She couldn’t dare to hope. Not after what she’s discovered about the other worlds Lorgunan had gained control of. As part of Parliament, she and the members were told by Lorgunan that a civil war had broken out on Yiv9, that in the mess of it all they wiped out the entire planet for their war. But she knew better now. Yiv9 refused to join Lorgunan and tried to fight. Now there was hardly anything left. She couldn’t stop Lorgunan from taking Liyao, but she could keep him away from as many innocent people as she could. As long as she did what he asked, he wouldn’t lay waste to her planet like the people of Yiv9.

“HAULT! GRAB HIM!” Came a guard’s cry from directly outside. A sudden realizing panic struck her, as she ran for the door. Outside in the main garden there was Jinak surrounded by Lorgunan’s appointed guards! They would torture him for information within an inch of his life. Katarin retrieved a crossbow from a display on the wall. One of those proud Liyao historical weapons. It was the only thing within reach! She took aim and– Her arm was grabbed, the crossbow wretched out of her hands. Lorgunan gripped her arm tight, standing over her with a displeased look as he examined the crossbow.

“This is unfortunate, Princess Katarin. I have been gracious enough to allow you to roam free in your own palace, yet you repay my generosity by passing information to terrorists and murdering one of your people?” Katarin opened her mouth to object, but not a word came through before there was a PFFFT! The crossbow in Lorgunan’s hands fired. Jinak shot through the heart. Her words stuck in her throat. How many more people were going to die…?

“Take Princess Katarin to the lower dungeon cell. Make sure it has no windows and no means of escape. We’ll discuss the punishment for your crimes later, Your Highness.” He released her in to the custody of his guards. Katarin could hear him giving orders to find Wen’s ship and destroy it as she was led away to the prison cells. As the cell door closed behind her, she was sure Wen wouldn’t make it.
